Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.

Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to further sanitize our facility. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.

• Oversees day shift environmental/linen services employees.
• Assist with department orientation and training of new employees and maintains documentation.
• Cover routes as needed either by securing substitutes or working the shift. Updates schedule on a continuous basis
• Assist ES Linen supervisor with maintaining all policies and procedures for department.
• Assists ES Linen techs with cleaning procedures as needed, properly handles chemicals and trains others in proper techniques
• Performs quality improvement checks and maintains statistics to improve services; keeps Supervisor informed of areas needing improvement as well as areas of good performance.

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

• Healthcare experience
