A school Physical Therapy Assistant assists licensed physical therapists in providing care and treatment to students. The main job is to execute therapy programs designed by the Physical Therapists to improve students’ physical capabilities, such as motor skills, strength, balance, and coordination by instructing and assisting with specific exercises or equipment.

• Assist in the implementation of individual treatment plans and document student progress
• Help students improve mobility and build strength
• Oversee activities to encourage recreation and therapeutic benefits
• Assist with student exercise programs and use of adaptive equipment
• Prepare therapy equipment for appointments
• Collaborate with physical therapists to provide rehabilitative care to students
• Assist licensed physical therapists in providing care and treatment to students
