Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as a CT Technologist
  • Valid Radiology license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current ARRT Certification
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary

The CT Technician operates computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross‑sectional images of patients' bodies for diagnostic purposes. Responsibilities include preparing patients, positioning them safely, ensuring correct imaging protocols, collaborating with radiologists to obtain high‑quality images, maintaining equipment, documenting patient records, and following safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure.

Essential Work Functions
  • Operate CT equipment to produce cross‑sectional images of bones, organs, and tissue for diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain imaging process, and position patients appropriately.
  • Set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.
  • Provide high‑quality images to radiologist for interpretation.
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and hospital policies to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of CT equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Document patient information, imaging parameters, and procedural details accurately in the hospital’s system.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver timely diagnostic services.
  • Adapt to different CT equipment and protocols across various healthcare facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of CT Tech practice.
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient reading, writing, and communication in English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
  • Physical Abilities – Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Interpersonal Skills – Must work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Technical/Motor Skills – Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move around when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
  • Mental Requirements – Must cope with frequent contact with the general public, meet deadlines under pressure, work under close supervision occasionally, and maintain concentration to detail.
  • Sensory – Must possess visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
