Job Title

Respiratory Therapist

Unit Notes RRT Oregon License REQUIRED Department: RT (Respiratory Therapist) # treatments per day
- Varies based on patient levels Certs (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP?) RRT or is CRT acceptable? BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, Can be RRT or CRT as long as requirements are met. Types of patients (adults, peds, and neonates?) all ages, FBC delivers 35 babies/month What areas do they cover (Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, Rehab, Sleep Lab, etc.) Entire hospital, don't go into SDS much except for covid swab taking, FBC, ER, MS, CCU are the main dept needs Experience or 'Must have' skills
- Bubble cpap, ABG, vent/bipap/cpap management

Job Duties (ie: Do RTs draw ABGs, perform EKGs, etc.) - Vent, bipap, cpap, bubble cpap on newborns, breathing treatments, EKG, ABGs Are RTs Required to be able to Intubate Independently or only to assist? Assist only with intubation Respiratory Manager/Supervisor/Lead Therapist? This is a critical access hospital with five RT on Staff. We are two RT short and have cancelled most outpt services to be able to staff the inpatient side 24/7.

Shifts & Scheduling (
* Would they ever be the only RT in-house?) Variable shifts, 36 hours/week, covering for holes, FMLA, PTO. Majority of the time you work alone. Weekend Requirement - Variable to cover shift holes, FMLA, PTO Holiday Requirement yes Call or standby call requirement? none What is call response time n/a Floating Requirements n/a Scrub Color/Dress Code royal blue RT Equipment (Brand for Vents, Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) Draegar for vents, V60 for bipap, resmed for cpap, Vapotherm for high flow Hospitalist or Intensivist in house hospitalist on site, 5 bed CCU, average 1-2 vent days a month, now running 5-7 vent days/month Department Specific Orientation 3-6 shifts Additional Notes The ability to move quickly is essential.

We are a critical access hospital all on one level so there is a lot of walking. You could walk 6-8 miles in a shift according to some of the staff with pedometers. Prioritization is a must and so is teamwork. You must be able to work independently. You are responsible for daily shift checks and billing of all procedures done on shift.
