Billing Specialist Pendleton, Oregon

Adaugeo Healthcare Solutions (AHS) is seeking a Billing Specialist to join the team in Pendleton, OR! The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing patient accounts and resolving outstanding Accounts Receivable (AR) issues. This role ensures accurate billing processes and patient satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.

Schedule: M-F, 6am-3pm

Compensation: Starts at $20 per hour (dependent on experience)

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior medical billing experience preferred

Responsibilities:

• Review patient account balances to determine appropriate collection actions based on billing office guidelines.
• Accurately document account changes and actions taken.
• Identify and process over payments according to established procedures.
• Respond to patient billing inquiries via email, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
• Verify and update patient information as necessary.
• Handle inbound and outbound phone calls to assist patients with their accounts, including processing payments and setting up payment plans.
• Accurately post both manual and electronic patient payments.
• Review and respond to tasks in the practice management system as required.
• Identify and address abnormalities or mismatched entries, coordinating with relevant personnel to resolve issues.

Physical Requirements

Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer op erations, stooping, bending, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.

It is our company policy to provide, free of charge, the Hepatitis Vaccine Series for all employees of the company who may be exposed to blood or body fluids.
1. Employees will be counseled upon hire regarding the vaccination series.
2. Upon the signing of the proper form, the employee will begin their series at the next scheduled vaccination day after hiring.
3. The series will be administered by a nurse at a designated clinic or hospital.
4. Documentation will be kept in the employee's permanent Personnel File.
5. When necessary, the Medical Director will determine follow up protocol.
Eligibility for Hepatitis Vaccine will be decided by the employee's supervisor based on their possible exposure to blood or body fluids during job performance, such as (but not limited to):
