Job DescriptionWe’re hiring dedicated professionals to provide on‑site care within our secure correctional medical unit. The role involves treating sickness, running lines, vaccinations, diabetic care, daily ailments, post‑op care, and end‑of‑life care while working closely with physicians. The position offers flexible scheduling, a manageable patient load, and professional autonomy.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care:
Provide nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, care planning, medication administration, laboratory and medical procedures, and treatment provision following ODOC policies and evidence‑based care standards. - Coordination of Care:
Schedule on‑site and community‑based services to achieve optimal outcomes. - Communication:
Provide patient education, serve as a resource to non‑medical staff, and advocate for timely patient needs. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records of all patient care activities and requests. - Administration:
Coordinate nursing activities across departments, assume management responsibilities when necessary, manage supplies and narcotic controls. - Lead Health Care Unit:
In absence of management staff, assume full unit operations.
- 5% for bilingual
- 4.75% for BSN
- 9.5% for MSN
- 5% for Lead Worker
- Swing shift – $3.92/hour
- Night shift – $5/hour
- Weekend shift – $5/hour

Minimum Qualifications- Valid Oregon Registered Professional Nurse’s License at the time of appointment.

Working Conditions- Independent work with minimal supervision.
- Requires availability any day of the week and all shifts.
- Regular contact with adults in custody who may become violent.
- Occasional double shifts and long periods of standing or walking.
- Exposure to chemicals, radiation, communicable diseases, and other hazards.
- Occasional local in‑state travel for training or meetings.
