Job TitleRegistered Nurse – ICU
LocationPendleton, OR | Acute Care
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 5-bed ICU managing diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, DKA, COPD exacerbation, RSV, influenza, COVID-19, and occasional stable pediatric patients — must be comfortable with all age populations
- Manage and titrate drips including heparin, vasopressors, Bumex, insulin, and sedation/analgesia
- Operate and monitor ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula in coordination with in-house Respiratory Therapy
- Read and interpret telemetry strips for med-surg patients as needed
- Function as a collaborative team member; float to other departments as "helping hands" if not fully cross-trained, with the option to fully cross-train to other departments
- Be available to report to the unit within 30 minutes if placed on low census/standby
- Active Oregon RN License required; candidates without an Oregon license in hand may apply using the 90-Day Oregon Emergency License
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- Proficiency with ventilator management and drip titration
- Prior ICU experience in a critical access or mixed-acuity hospital setting
- Experience caring for a broad range of patient populations including adult and pediatric patients
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Favorable staffing ratios (1:2–3; 1:1 for unstable vent patients) with a strong culture of teamwork
- 24/7 on-site support including a charge RN, house supervisor, hospitalist, and respiratory therapy coverage
