The Pendleton Park and Recreation Department is seeking a highly motivated self-starter to serve as pool operator at the Pendleton Family Aquatic Center, perform maintenance tasks at the Ice-Skating Rink, and other Park and Recreation Department facilities. The position will report directly to the Recreation Supervisor and will be a full-time year-round position.
This position will be a mix of routine maintenance, and reacting to issues and failures as they arise to ensure continuous successful operation of a 1.5 Million Gallon aquatic center containing 3 pools, water slides, locker rooms, and grounds. This position will also be responsible for maintenance tasks at the ice-skating rink during the winter and at other park and recreation facilities as needed.
Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, and will regularly require lifting of up to 60lbs, bending, kneeling etc.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, general maintenance, and troubleshooting systems.
This position will be required to either have or be able to obtain, within 6 months of hire, a Certified Pool Operator qualification, and forklift certification.
The department is willing to provide training for the candidate to acquire these certifications.
The position will be primarily Monday-Friday 7am-4pm, but will be required to be on-call evenings and weekends every other week during the pool and Ice rink seasons. Wage range $4,068 - $5,653 per month. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to pass a criminal background check.
