Description
Starting Pay: $16 - $18.50 per hour (with annual raises)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8AM-4PM (40 hrs per week)
** occasional weekend or evening hours**
About Us:
Horizon Project provides support to adults (18+) with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and in the community.
Duties include:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living including bathroom use and personal hygiene
- Support client employment and job coaching (+$1 per hour when job coaching)
- Provide safe, respectful, and compassionate care
- Document client progress accurately on a computer every day
- Follow safety and emergency protocols
- Use adaptive equipment and transport clients as needed (Company Vehicle provided)
- Plan daily activities for clients that meet their personal goals (reading, math, art)
- Accompany clients on outings to places like the bowling alley or the county fair
- Administer client medications accurately
- Basic computer skills (Typing, email, printer/copier).

- Must be over the age of 18 years old
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must pass a pre-employment driving records screening
Must have a valid driver's license that is insurable by HPI's auto insurance provider (Driving Required Position) - Must pass a pre-employment background check by Oregon DHS (renewed every 2 years)
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
Position is active in nature. Must be able to monitor and observe the activities of program participants. Regularly move about or position self to supervise and interact with participants at their level. Occasionally lift, transport, position, push/pull or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Must be sufficiently mobile and possess a range of motion to perform repetitive standing, walking, balancing, stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, sitting on the floor, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting.
Ability to react quickly to the physical actions of program participant. Administrative and supervisory activities will require ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Sufficiently mobile to attend activities and meetings within the Umatilla County. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
