Position: Troops 2 Transportation: Student Application (CDL)

US Foods Driver – Food Distribution

Ready to build a career with a leading food service distributor? This position is only open to Troops 2 Transportation Students.

Main Responsibilities
  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two‑wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas.
  • Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
  • Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance the client experience.
  • Perform all pre‑trip and post‑trip equipment inspections.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repeatedly during each shift.
  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift).
Requirements
  • Register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence, with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
  • Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry.
  • Preferred ability to operate manual transmission; may be required in specific locations.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English – able to hold a conversation, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and enter information on reports and records.
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate is between $20.54 and $46.50. Overtime compensation, retention bonus, and component pay may also be provided. Benefits include health insurance, pre‑tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short‑term and long‑term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
