Overview

We are currently recruiting for an Italian Speaking Content Moderator For Social Media position in Bulgaria on behalf of a globally recognised social media platform that serves millions of Italian‑speaking users every day. In this dynamic, fast‑paced role, you will be responsible for reviewing and moderating user‑generated content to ensure that community standards and platform policies are consistently upheld across one of the world's most influential social media environments.

This is an outstanding opportunity for Italian‑speaking professionals seeking meaningful jobs in Bulgaria within the exciting and ever‑evolving social media industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and moderate Italian‑language user‑generated content — including posts, comments, images, and videos — submitted across social media platforms, ensuring full compliance with established community guidelines and content policies.
  • Identify, assess, and action potentially harmful, offensive, or policy‑violating content with accuracy, consistency, and a high degree of cultural sensitivity towards the Italian‑speaking audience.
  • Escalate complex or high‑priority content cases to senior moderation teams or specialist departments in a timely and structured manner.
  • Accurately categorise and document moderation decisions using internal case management systems, maintaining detailed records to support quality assurance and reporting processes.
  • Stay continuously updated on the latest social media platform policies, content moderation protocols, and evolving digital safety standards relevant to the Italian market.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including Trust & Safety, Legal, and Product teams to provide feedback that helps improve platform moderation tools and workflows.
  • Monitor emerging content trends and flag potential coordinated inauthentic behaviour, misinformation, or harmful viral content impacting Italian‑language social media communities.
  • Participate in regular calibration sessions and quality audits to maintain high moderation accuracy scores and contribute to a positive, safe online environment for all users.

Requirements

  • Native or fluent Italian language skills (both spoken and written) are absolutely essential for this role, as you will be moderating content directed at Italian‑speaking social media communities.
  • Valid EU passport or relevant documentation confirming the right to work within the European Union (mandatory).
  • A good working knowledge of English is required for internal communication, training, and platform tool navigation.
  • Previous experience in content moderation, trust and safety, customer support, or a related role within the social media, digital, or technology industry is highly advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent judgement under pressure, and the ability to make consistent, policy‑aligned decisions when reviewing sensitive or graphic content.
  • Demonstrated resilience, emotional maturity, and the ability to manage exposure to potentially distressing content in a professional and well‑supported team environment.
  • Comfortable working in a structured, target‑driven environment with the flexibility to adapt to rotating shifts as required by operational needs.
