We are a world leader in renewable energies utility looking for
** a highly skilled Electrical or Energy Engineer with previous experience leading the construction of solar farms** (A wind farm’s construction background would be also appreciated) including the connection infrastructure.
The
** Networks Engineer
** is a critical role within the Onshore Renewables Business, focusing on the delivery of large-scale and industrial self-consumption onshore wind and solar projects in Italy and overseas. The Network Engineer will be responsible for defining and implementing robust and cost-effective engineering strategies and plans (in particular for Substation and Power lines), tendering, negotiating and managing contracts, planning and implementing delivery of tasks associated interfaces, defining company and business engineering standards and technical acceptance criteria, and ensuring quality, best practices and excellent H&SE performance are applied.
The role will take the lead in defining and engineering the Networks Transmission infrastructures (Substation and Export Power line) associated to wind farm and solar plants and design studies and activities related to Iberdrola International pipeline. The individual will be a recognized expert in their field and take leadership within and out with the business to develop and set the design requirements for the Transmission Network's needs (Substation, OHL and Export Cable) for the actual wind farm / solar projects and developments in the pipeline.
The candidate will be managing Networks engineering activities and decisions from a Lead Engineering perspective across the onshore project portfolio.
The individual will be working as part of a global business with activities in many locations across Italy. The position may require travelling to various locations across Italy and the individual should be capable of managing teams working at different project locations and contractors.
** MAIN
ACCOUNTABILITIES
*** Network design activities in the whole cycle of engineering (for substations and Power lines) across Iberdrola Italy onshore renewable project portfolio, providing key engineering documentation, specifications, assessment and recommendations to ensure delivery of projects within time, to budget and quality following the highest industry practice and observing the maximum respect for Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure regulatory and legal compliance.
* Give support to the Business Development equipment for project Due Diligence.
* Prepare the tender documentation for the engineering support and construction contracts and develop the technical assessment for the bids.
* Review technical progress by Contractors challenging them on their proposals.
* Provide expert advice on appropriate programme strategies / engineering strategies / risk levels and grid interface agreements relative to a multi-million-euro, multi-disciplinary, multi-contract work package, to ensure that cost effective technical solutions are identified, fully evaluated and the risk profile is fully understood by the project.
* Ensure that all assessment, advice and recommendations are fully documented in accordance with all internal procedures and industry best practice, and that sufficient technical and commercial due diligence (whether internal or external) exists to support those business decisions.
* Provide professional leadership and direction to team members, potentially comprising employees working within a number of countries throughout Italy, Europe and other countries, to ensure professional standards are maintained (or enhanced) and the team delivers a consistent, high quality, cost effective service to the projects.
