The Project Surveyor oversees refits and new build projects and is acting as technical expert and surveyor. He/she will provide the Project Manager with technical advice and provide with regular feedback to FY Project Manager. The Project Surveyor ensures compliance of the project with all the elements of the technical specifications, follow the work progress, and ensure the quality control on board.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Managers with the technical aspect of yacht renovation projects and new build;
  • Assist the team with coordination of the different projects;
  • Participate in site meetings and site inspections;
  • Knowledge of Class and Flag regulation;
  • Knowledge of ship building practice and systems;
  • Attend shipyard progress and extraordinary meetings for projects;
  • Attend on-site inspection as required and write visit reports.
Skills/Requirements
  • A first experience the project management of refit or new construction projects in the yachting industry;
  • Familiarity with construction processes, naval architecture concepts, on-board systems and outfitting disciplines (ex: teak decking and paint);
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook);
  • Proficiency in CAD software is a plus;
  • Proficient spoken and written English is essential, Italian and French is a plus;
  • Flexibility to travel to shipyards;
  • On board experience as crew is a plus but not compulsory.
