Packaging Development Engineer

Kan Pak LLC is seeking a Packaging Development Engineer II to design, optimize, and support packaging for shelf-stable beverages and dessert products. In this on-site manufacturing role, you will lead packaging trials and line qualifications, translate customer and brand requirements into robust packaging specs, and collaborate with R&D, Quality, and Operations to launch new products. You will analyze line performance, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, and high-quality standards in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize primary and secondary packaging for aseptic and shelf-stable beverages and desserts.
• Lead packaging trials, line qualifications, and scale-up from pilot to full production.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, R&D, and procurement on new product launches and changes.
• Analyze downtime, material waste, and defects to drive packaging-related process improvements.
• Develop and maintain packaging specifications, drawings, and BOMs in CAD and internal systems.
• Partner with suppliers on new materials, formats, and cost-optimization initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory, and customer packaging requirements.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for packaging and line performance issues.
