Overview

The Campus Manager, Site Operations owns the overall operations for one or more Vantage data center campuses and directly manages a team of Critical Facilities Engineers (CFEs) and their manager-level positions. The manager interfaces with Operations Director, Reliability Engineering, Design Engineering & Construction, Health & Safety, Security and other resources to manage the overall campus.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the operations and engineering functions at the property to safely and effectively operate machinery and building systems.
  • Oversee the site team to ensure a high‑level customer experience and operational excellence.
  • Ensure availability and capacity targets are achieved and maintained for data centers and technical infrastructure.
  • Encourage and foster a team‑oriented environment through positive feedback.
  • Hold employees accountable for preventive and corrective maintenance of facilities equipment.
  • Resolve customer issues quickly and efficiently and maintain high satisfaction.
  • Understand building system performance, recognize deficiencies immediately and respond to operational and emergency situations.
  • Ensure adequate training for all facility engineers and other personnel on electrical, mechanical equipment, system maintenance, repairs and operation.
  • Implement Vantage policies on site relating to safety, security, quality, and information systems.
  • Document crisis management processes and apply them when necessary.
  • Collaborate with Vantage Operations at the country level on all aspects of maintenance activities of technical installations.
  • Implement best practices for smooth customer project implementation, completing projects in accordance with contracts and agreed prices.
  • Schedule, coordinate and oversee all maintenance vendors during maintenance and break‑fix events.
  • Ensure personnel safety while protecting the facility’s critical equipment.
  • Develop required MOPs/SOPs and enforce them.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory elements and Vantage operations best practices.
  • Deploy tools and systems in collaboration with Vantage Operations and Vantage ICT.
  • Evaluate site continuity levels of service regularly and develop action plans to improve them.
  • Organize maintenance activities in accordance with the annual preventative maintenance program.
  • Support day‑to‑day activities in relation with Vantage Operations and company stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships between Vantage Operations, customers, and third‑party suppliers/vendors.
  • Participate in capacity usage follow‑up and roadmap definition for future growth.
  • Monitor energy quality at the supplier's point of delivery and overall site usage.
  • Improve Power Usage Efficiency (PUE) and report progress to the country level.
  • Track contract application and SLA performance with suppliers/subcontractors.
  • Manage and evaluate performance reviews for all employees in the organization.
  • Prepare operational and capital portions of the Site Operations budget.
  • Promote ISO certification goals on the site and support Vantage Quality & Safety Manager.
  • Produce reliable reports, data, and metrics in accordance with company requirements.
  • Maintain all documentation related to the operational activities of the site.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Technical background, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision, strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of direct managerial experience and interpersonal skills, strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Data Center or Critical Infrastructure industries, strongly preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of physical security in a critical environment, preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate internally with team members and externally with vendors and service providers.
  • Italian and English language proficiency required.
  • Proven track record of managing through periods of significant people, process and technology change.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional collaboration to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives.
  • Acceptable travel less than 5%, occasionally for training purposes.
