JOB PURPOSE

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will support the delivery of Burberry’s Leather Goods strategy across our Italian manufacturing network. This role plays a key part in improving performance, agility and process excellence across internal and external production partners. You will combine engineering rigour with a collaborative mindset to strengthen operational outcomes while supporting Burberry’s commitment to craft, quality and sustainable luxury.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor manufacturing performance and lead improvement actions to enhance efficiency, quality and delivery.
• Partner with external manufacturers to assess performance and manage the vendor rating process.
• Analyse internal cutting and production processes using lean manufacturing principles.
• Identify and implement optimisation initiatives across suppliers, workflows and working times.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with planning, purchasing, quality, production and logistics to control lead times and address deviations.
• Define production KPIs, develop reporting systems and deliver clear qualitative and quantitative insights.

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Experience in manufacturing or process engineering within a complex production environment.
• A degree in Management Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Confidence leading process improvement and change initiatives in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into practical actions.
• Clear communicator with a collaborative, solutions‑focused approach.
• Proficiency in common data and reporting tools, with strong written and spoken English.
