Schedule

Full Time - 3x12s, rotating day or night shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays, with 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care including telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening and social perceptiveness.
• Create individualized, culturally relevant plans of care based on patient assessments.
• Promote and advocate for patient health and safety while respecting patient rights.
• Systematically evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
• Engage in self-evaluation and professional development to enhance nursing practice.
• Motivate patients and families by providing education on self-care post-discharge.
• Encourage teamwork among staff to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Comply with safety and infection prevention protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS.
• One (1) year of experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse.
