Experience:
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in long-term care and supervisory experience across multiple units.
License:
Current Registered Nurse licensure in New York State
Certifications:
BLS required through AHA or RQI system. CPI obtained within 90 days of hire.
Must-Have:
Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing. Preferred: BSN
Description:
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units.
Provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units.
Assures quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts.
Communicates with the Director of Nursing regarding identified and potential unit problems.
Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to resolve problems.
Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator during off-shifts and weekends.
Demonstrates the ability to collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, and ancillary services.
Manages self professionally in stressful situations.
Facilitates clinical management and works effectively under pressure.
Meets deadlines and manages multiple priorities.
Enhances the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
Possesses familiarity with regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.
Exhibits computer literacy.
Models and exemplifies professional standards and effective communication.
Ensures safety, promotes dignity, and exemplifies healthy relationships in the workplace.
Demonstrates the ability to manage occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.
