Full Time Acute Med/Surg Registered Nurse - Days/Nights

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families in the acute medical-surgical setting. This role involves assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, providing direct care, and evaluating patient progress throughout their healthcare journey. The Med/Surg RN specializes in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring, with a strong focus on patient and family education for self-care post-hospitalization.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family needs through effective communication and observation.
• Develop and implement individualized, culturally relevant care plans.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Ensure the health, safety, and rights of patients are upheld at all times.
• Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices, engaging in continuous self-evaluation and professional development.
• Administer medications and perform nursing interventions competently.
• Provide education and support to patients and families for continued care post-discharge.
• Foster teamwork and mutual respect among healthcare team members.
• Comply with infection prevention strategies and maintain required competencies.
• Maintain meaningful connections with patients and families to enhance their healing environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse in a Med/Surg environment.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a variable schedule including day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed by the client.
