Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Full Time Nights
Full Time Nights
5x7.5 schedule (37.5 hours after lunch breaks)
Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
Holiday coverage required
High School Diploma or GED required
NYS Nursing Assistant Certification required
BLS certification required (AHA or RQI)
Minimum one (1) year of previous Long-Term Care (LTC) or CNA experience required
Works under the direction of licensed nursing personnel
Performs direct and indirect designated resident care within the scope of practice as defined by certification
Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span
Must possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs
Provides care for adult and geriatric patient groups
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Resident ADL needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment
Includes hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, skin care, etc.

Environment & Safety
Resident environment and safety maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
Includes answering call lights and alarms promptly
Provision of safety mats and low beds
Restraint use under the direction of Nursing
Maintaining cleanliness of unit
Behavior and fall prevention
Appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment
Documentation completed per protocol
Nutritional Needs
Resident nutritional needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
Includes meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and nourishments
Resident preferences and choices shall be honored
Documentation completed per protocol
Rehabilitative Care
Resident rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures
Includes range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices
Documentation completed per protocol
Resident Rights & Reporting
Resident rights, refusals, and concerns are reported to the Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures
Changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status are identified and reported to the Charge Nurse promptly
Occupational Exposure
Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated
Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues
