Full Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Full time CNA position available for evening shifts with every other weekend and holiday required. Candidates must possess NYS Nursing Assistant Certification and have at least one year of experience as a licensed CNA working in a long-term care setting. Job functions include assisting residents with daily living needs such as hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, and skin care per their care plans.
Maintaining resident safety and the environment is crucial; this involves responding to call lights, using safety equipment, preventing falls, and keeping the unit clean. Supporting residents during meal times requires delivering trays, helping with feeding, using adaptive equipment, and honoring food preferences. Assisting with mobility and rehabilitation needs includes tasks such as range of motion exercises, walking, transfers, proper positioning, and the use of aids.
Taking and recording vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure is a key responsibility. Measuring and recording weight, intake, and output also falls under the CNA's duties. The CNA will assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents. Providing companionship and addressing the social and emotional needs of residents through interaction is vital. Confidentiality and residents' rights must be maintained at all times.
Any resident concerns, changes, or refusals must be promptly reported to a nurse. All required documentation must be completed in a timely manner as per protocol. Occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated, and required tasks may lead to contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
