THE ROLEYou will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Advanced Robotics Facility is coordinated by Stefano Cordasco. The Advanced Robotics Facility provides technical support for the advanced robotic research lines in IIT (HHCM, ADVR, DLS, HRII, Soft Bots) in project, design, realization and testing of hardware, firmware and software for robotics platforms.
Within the research team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Software and firmware development, including but not limited to, device communication (sensors, motor drivers, etc.), system architecture and front-end.
- Collaboration with other engineering disciplines, such as mechatronics, electronics and control, to ensure the successful integration of the subsystems within the software architecture.
- Handle merge request and code review
- Support team main software
- Planning of activities with the software team
- Handling software related project deliverables
- Writing of status reports
- A Master degree in computer science, information technologies, engineering or related fields
- Documented experience in embedded software and firmware development
- Advanced programming skills in C/C++
- Experience in soft and hard real-time software systems (CAN Protocols)
- Confidence with version control tools (specifically git)
- Experience in debug hardware and electronics, sensor calibration and relative activities
- Good hands-on and analytical skills
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Experience in robotics
- Programming skills in other programming languages
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem solving attitude
- High motivation to learn
- Spirit of innovation and creativity
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
- Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset
- A yearly gross salary ranging between 45K€ and 50K€, which may include a bonus option depending on your role and contract
