CONTACT of Mercer County, NJ is seeking a highly organized, motivated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our mission of providing suicide prevention services and mental health crisis intervention throughout New Jersey.

As an affiliate of the NJ 988 Suicide Prevention & Crisis Lifeline, CONTACT provides emotional support, crisis intervention, and connections to resources for individuals experiencing emotional distress, loneliness, or crisis. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while supporting a dedicated nonprofit organization.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Administrative Operations Manager, the Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative support to help ensure the smooth operation of CONTACT's programs and services. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, technologically proficient, and committed to supporting a mission-driven nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for daily office operations.
  • Assist the Executive Director with email correspondence and preparation of letters, reports, spreadsheets, forms, and other documents.
  • Coordinate and maintain schedules for NJ 988 Telephone, Chat, and Text Crisis Counselors.
  • Schedule and organize meetings, training, and events.
  • Maintain filing systems, databases, contact lists, employee records, and organizational records.
  • Order and track office supplies and meeting materials as needed.
  • Assist with payroll administration by coordinating timesheets, tracking hours, and communicating with Human Resources and Finance staff.
  • Support calendar management, meeting logistics, and follow-up activities.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
