NY/NJ Construction Field Services Lead will lead the development and growth of the Construction Management Services within the NY/NJ Water Business Group. The role reports to the Area Water Business Group Manager and collaborates with the Area Business Development Manager, Water Market Sector Client Managers, Regional Construction Field Services Lead, Project Managers, and technical staff to support business development and project delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Lead business development strategies, including pursuing new clients and projects, client management, and project management for key projects.
  • Provide technical input on projects and collaborate with marketing and technical staff on new project pursuits.
  • Lead client management for key clients and address client issues across multiple projects.
  • Develop a long‑range construction field services vision and strategy for the NY/NJ area.
  • Maintain client relationships through professional organization participation, conference presentations, and client development workshops.
  • Engage in branding and professional organization activities as a company role model.
  • Participate in practice groups, project teams, and activities to improve standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate staffing/recruiting plans for key hires and assist leadership with technical and project management hires.
  • Mentor staff and develop technical experts and business class leaders.
  • Identify needs and opportunities for new or improved technical services and products.
  • Work with area leaders on market sector initiatives and project staffing decisions.
  • Support workload and market sector utilization decisions.
  • Implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews.
  • Manage business class staff, workload, and projects to meet client expectations.
  • Coordinate local bidding efforts, procure purchase orders and subcontract packages.
  • Perform construction management activities including procurement, scheduling, subcontract scope reviews, constructability and value engineering reviews, estimating, and performance presentations.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with health and safety program.
  • Prepare and update project schedules, pay requests, progress reports, budgets, and schedule management reports.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, Sciences, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction and project management.
  • Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience in development and management of diverse teams.
  • Works cooperatively with area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.
  • Displays an active participant attitude in the employee‑owned culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active engagement in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) by the Construction Management Association of America.
  • Professional Engineer in New York.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
Compensation and Benefits

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location: $173,688 - $248,125. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short and long‑term disability, life insurance, employee assistance program, paid time away, parental leave, paid holidays, retirement savings plan with employer match, employee referral bonus, and tuition reimbursement. Benefits are provided for full‑time regular positions; temporary and part‑time roles are eligible for limited benefits.
