Overview
Geosyntec has an opportunity for a CMT Senior Technician in Bloomfield, NJ, Columbia, MD, Washington DC, or Pennington, NJ to support our Richmond, VA office. The position coordinates and collects samples of soil, sediment, water, and air for environmental tests and compiles construction quality assurance monitoring data, overseeing the CQA program for waste containment facility construction projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform field and on‑site laboratory tests on construction materials and track appropriate testing frequencies.
- Monitor client job sites to assure compliance with contract documents, technical specifications, drawings, sampling plans, and CQA plans.
- Provide CQA monitoring, groundwater sampling, soil and geosynthetics sampling, air monitoring, and contractor oversight on construction and environmental activities.
- Prepare daily field reports, weekly construction schedules, progress reports, meeting agendas and minutes, testing and monitoring logs, and related documentation accurately and timely.
- Ensure project documentation is correct, complete, neat, and consistent with company policies.
- Interact with project personnel and assist in cultivating an integrated team approach through open communication and participation in work progress meetings.
- Coordinate and delegate CQA monitoring tasks to subordinate technicians, guiding interpretation of technical specifications and construction drawings.
- Mentor, guide, and train subordinate technicians as needed.
- Observe technician performance, relay feedback upon project completion.
- Perform related work as required.
- Drive personal or company rental vehicles to client or project sites as needed.
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of four (4) years of applicable experience; associate degree with two (2) years; or bachelor’s degree in science, construction management, engineering, physical science, environmental science, or related fields. (required)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. (required)
- Strong mathematical background with ability to perform basic geometry and algebra calculations. (required)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self‑motivated with a strong work ethic. (required)
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 49 pounds unaided and 50–100 pounds with assistance. (required)
- Ability to speak and hear, stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. (required)
- Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation. (required)
- Minimum: $32.33 / hour / Maximum: $45.26 / hour (Pennington, NJ, Washington, D.C.)
- Minimum: $33.80 / hour / Maximum: $47.32 / hour (Bloomfield, NJ)
- Minimum: $30.86 / hour / Maximum: $43.20 / hour (Columbia, MD)
- Minimum: $29.39 / hour / Maximum: $49.09 / hour (Richmond, VA)
