Hybrid Production Support Engineer; Dev​/QA​/BA Background

10 Hybrid Production Support Engineer (Dev/QA/BA background) – Pennington, NJ

This is a 12+ month contract position.

• Act as the Level 2/3 support lead for production outages
• Dive into the code (Java/.NET/Python) to identify logic errors and propose code-level fixes
• Work directly with business users to understand the "Why" behind a production issue
• Translate user frustrations into technical requirements and actionable Jira tickets for the development team
• Lead the "Post-Fix" validation process
• Design and execute smoke tests and regression suites to ensure that production patches do not introduce new regressions
• Proactively build monitoring dashboards (Splunk/Dynatrace) and write automation scripts (Python/Shell) to reduce manual "toil" and prevent recurring incidents
• Provide clear, non-technical updates to leadership during "War Room" scenarios while providing detailed technical logs to the dev team

• 5+ years of IT experience with proven past roles as a Developer (coding/debugging), Business Analyst (requirements/mapping), and QA Engineer (testing/test plans)
• Ability to read and debug code in at least one major language (Java, C#, or Python)
• Expert‑level SQL for data investigation and integrity checks
• Command‑line proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and the ability to distinguish between a "System Bug" and a "Business Process Gap"
• Experience with Jira, Service Now, Splunk (or ELK), and Jenkins

Pay range: $55.06 - $63.06
