Infrastructure Engineer II – Middleware Administrator

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end middleware administration for critical banking platforms, including Web Sphere, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and WXS
• Deliver middleware enterprise projects and regulatory legislative initiatives
• Ensure production stability through ongoing support
• Patch middleware platforms with current software versions to help manage customer risk
• Install, configure, performance-tune, and support middleware servers in production
• Work daily with application and testing teams, providing middleware and Java support
• Create, maintain, and support application deployment templates
• Serve as a J2EE architect and recommend J2EE best practices
• Design middleware infrastructure and topology for high availability and failover
• Ensure solutions meet policy, baseline, standards, and business requirements
• Provide technical consultation to team members and supported areas
• Communicate with business partners at enterprise level
• Interface with internal customers and external vendors throughout the SDLC
• Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases
• Provide subject matter expertise and consulting across technologies
• Translate business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and deployment playbooks
• Evaluate reference models, blueprints, playbooks, and third-party products
• Develop software solutions to automate manual or repeatable work
• Promote an inclusive and healthy working environment
• Contribute to functional and non-functional product evaluation requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Apache, J2EE, Java, JBoss, Web Sphere Application Server, and Tomcat
• Experience with BPM products, specifically Appian
• Linux experience
• Java/Container Framework knowledge
• Knowledge of shell, Python, and Perl scripting
• Understanding of network infrastructure, including HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, and B2B links
• Experience with release deployment tools:
  Ansible, Ansible Tower, XLR, and Bit Bucket
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail

  Experience with Web Sphere Extreme Scale and BPM Middleware Administration
• Desired:
  Dev Ops experience
• Desired: BMC Truesight Server Automation, Harman mDeliver, Ansible Tower, and Terraform experience

Demonstrates extensive experience in Middleware Administration, including Apache, JBoss, Web Sphere, and Tomcat, while ensuring production stability and compliance with regulatory standards. Proficient in Java, J2EE architecture, and deployment automation tools to support enterprise-level projects.
