Job Title

The following outlines the key responsibilities, daily duties, month-end process, and requirements for the position.

The role involves overseeing inventory accounting across production facilities, e-commerce, and warehouses. This includes performing cycle counts regularly to ensure inventory is maintained properly, assisting with any physical inventory planned with the company, maintaining and improving standard costing models, product cost analyses, and landed cost calculations. Additionally, the role requires reconciling inventory to ensure accuracy across all business units and strengthening cost accounting for manufactured and processed goods, including yield and waste tracking.

The daily duties include working with the Finance team to enter/review Production Orders, creating Purchase Orders for inventory based on Sales Order Planning Reports, reviewing Inventory reports for items remaining on Delivery Vehicles from the prior day, and assisting the Accounts Receivable/Sales team on items needed for Sales orders.

The month-end process involves assisting in counting key inventory items and reviewing versus the ERP system, reviewing Inventory reports versus G/L balance for variances, including journal entry preparations, assisting the Controller on any ad-hoc reporting or projects to improve efficiency, and reviewing Sales Reports for any Gross Profit anomalies.

The role requires experience with Inventory Control in a manufacturing setting, SAGE ERP experience is a plus, and intermediate to advanced skills in Excel (proficient with Pivot tables, Vlookup, etc.). Proficiency with other Office products, including Word, Outlook, and Access, is also necessary. The role also requires assisting with future ERP implementation from SAGE.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of experience are required. Experience in cost accounting and general accounting in a manufacturing environment is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also necessary, responding to questions and requests from managers, customers, and senior management promptly and accurately.
