POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate, Tax and Grant will support BAYADA’s nonprofit, tax, and grant compliance functions while demonstrating and promoting The BAYADA Way. The position will prepare and file multi‑state Sales & Use, Personal Property, and Gross Receipts/Business Privilege tax returns, while maintaining tax exemptions and ensuring accurate, compliant application across transactions. This person will aid in nonprofit annual reporting, assist with charitable registrations, and support donation intake and general ledger reconciliation.
In addition, the position manages critical aspects of the grant lifecycle—researching opportunities, developing and monitoring budgets, maintaining data in the grant database, tracking expenditures, and preparing required funder reports. The role may also support audit activities, including funder‑initiated reviews and tax‑related examinations, as needed.

- Four (4) year college degree in Accounting or Finance.
- One (1) to three (3) years of public accounting or related industry experience.
- Prior nonprofit experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) applications and ability to learn various software applications (e.g., Workday).
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and processes.

- Sales and Use Tax return preparation and filing.
- Renew applicable sales tax exemptions as needed; review transaction‑level activity to ensure the exemption’s consistent, compliant application.
- Personal Property Tax return preparation and filing.
- Gross Receipts/Business Privilege Tax return preparation and filing.
- Research city, county and state level business license requirements, and assist in completion of any applications or required renewals.
- Assist as needed, in preparing nonprofit and tax annual filings with the IRS and State Revenue agencies including but not limited to data extraction and analysis, schedule compilation, and various levels of review.
- Support the donation intake process by recording and reviewing related general ledger activity, reconciling the general ledger to provided donation activity reports, monitoring transactions for compliance with nonprofit guidelines, and preparation of annual charitable registration extensions and renewals.
- Support the discovery, research, analysis and application of new grant opportunities administered by Federal, State, Local, and Private Foundations.
- Determine the permissible use of awarded dollars within the confines of the grant agreement and assist in creation/review of grant‑specific budgets ensuring adherence to the grant’s requirements.
- Ensure receipts/disbursements are appropriately captured in the general ledger at an individual grant level.
- Maintain and monitor grant‑related activities/actions within grant database, including but not limited to the following: grant contact and general ledger account additions, budget creation and adjustment, monitoring upcoming and incomplete tasks, reconciliation of grant database to the general ledger, addition or removal of grant expenditures, ad‑hoc reporting as needed.
- Contribute to the refinement of processes tied to tracking grant receipts/disbursements, minimizing the need for manual intervention.
