About the RoleDuPont Diversified Industrials - Shelter is recruiting for a Chemical Process Operator based at our Pennsauken site in Pennsauken, NJ. The Pennsauken Plant is home to the Polyiso business. Diversified Industrials Shelter is a leading provider of engineered products and integrated systems for the construction market.
LocationPennsauken, NJ. This role is located in Pennsauken, NJ and may require less than 5% of travel.
Contract TypeThis is a non- bargaining (Non-Union) opportunity.
Work HoursWork in a team atmosphere and help other teams in time of need.
Work 10 hour shifts with occasional mandatory overtime. The OT may sometimes be on short notice.
Wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) including a respirator when needed.
Lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.
Work in confined spaces.
Responsibilities- Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices without deviation.
- Operate process equipment after being fully trained and qualified.
- Monitor, collect, and input plant metrics.
- Use troubleshooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems.
- Perform quality checks to keep product within the quality specification required.
- Perform minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance.
- A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ manufacturing/production technician experience in a chemical plant.
- Experience inspecting and operating mobile equipment (i.e. fork truck).
- Basic math skills (simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division without a calculator).
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Must be able to make decisions related to safety, quality, and operations with minimal amount of supervision.
- Must have good computer skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience doing lockouts i.e. isolating hazardous energy sources.
- Advanced degree beyond High School (Associate, Bachelor, etc.) from an accredited program.
- Valid US Driver’s license.
