The Role

This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for the administration and management of our plant's entire quality program. As a core member of our management team, you will not only ensure compliance but also champion a culture of continuous improvement, contributing to overall plant operations with a shared focus onsafety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality System Management:Managing and continuously improving internal quality systems, procedures, work instructions, and documentation (QMS).
  • Compliance Leadership:Overseeing SFI/FSC and regulatory compliance, and maintaining working knowledge of
    ISO 9001
    standards.
  • Customer & Supplier Relations:Managing internal/external relationships relative to quality, including translating customer specifications into manufacturing requirements and working with suppliers to ensure material compliance.
  • Audit Management:Leading internal quality audits and serving as the primary lead for all 3rd-party QMS and facility audits.
  • Issue Resolution & Tracking:Leading efforts to investigate, track, and respond effectively to customer complaints and internal issues, ensuring effective corrective actions.
  • Process Control:Defining and executing necessary inspection, testing, and process-critical controls for raw materials and in-process converting orders.
  • Performance & Training:Developing and posting monthly Quality performance charts and continuously improving and training staff on the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Continuous Improvement:Championing and leading programs like
    5S
    to drive operational excellence and workplace organization.
Daily and Operational Duties
  • Perform and document in-process quality checks and testing for all converting orders.
  • Perform documented incoming inspection and testing on raw materials.
  • Contact vendors and issue material-related non-conformance scans.
  • Actively track, prepare, and post monthly Quality charts (customer complaints, internal/vendor issues).
  • Ensure all staff understand, follow, and enforce established safety, quality, GMP, and company policies.
  • Participate in monthly safety team activities.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience:Proven Quality Management/Supervisory experience in a
    printing and/or packaging manufacturing environment
    with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Technical Knowledge:Working knowledge of
    ISO 9001
    and experience with
    FSC / SFI
    standards is highly preferred.
  • Strategic & Detail-Oriented:A strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to superior quality.
  • Software Proficiency:Essential computer usage skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and typing skills.
  • Leadership & Communication:
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively:conveying facts and information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Collaborative mindset:proactively contributes to group objectives and works well with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage pressure, meet deadlines, and carry out assignments to completion.
  • Work Ethic:Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • $80,000-$105,000 per year
  • Monday-Friday 7am - 5pm, weekends as needed.
