Public Tax Accountant

Position: Public Staff Tax Accountant
Location: Bethlehem

Description We are looking for an experienced Public Staff Tax Accountant to join our team in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This is a contract position offering flexibility and an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax preparation and accounting, with the ability to handle individual and corporate tax returns efficiently.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns with precision and attention to detail.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations during tax preparation.

- Utilize CCH Pro System Fx software to manage and process tax documents effectively.

- Collaborate with team members to address complex tax matters and provide solutions.

- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support tax filings.

- Assist in identifying opportunities for tax savings and optimization for clients.

- Provide thorough guidance to clients regarding tax-related inquiries.

- Stay updated on changes in tax policies and legislation to ensure accurate application.

- Support accounting functions as needed to complement tax preparation efforts.

- Manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines during peak tax seasons. Requirements - Proven experience in preparing individual and corporate tax returns.

- Proficiency in using CCH Pro System Fx or similar tax preparation software.

- Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance standards.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.

- Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules based on seasonal demands.

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
