Position Overview
The Billing Specialist will support construction billing operations, including daily invoice production and project-based billing. The company is open to candidates without AIA billing experience and is willing to provide training. This role works closely with project managers and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely billing.

Billing Specialist Key Responsibilities

• Produce daily invoices for time and material and project-based billing.

• Maintain and update time and material rates in the billing system.

• The Billing Specialist will assist with AIA billing applications (G702/G703) with training and support.

• Review contracts, schedules of values, change orders, and retainage.

• Coordinate with project managers to verify work completed and billing percentages.

• The Billing Specialist will track lien waivers, insurance certificates, compliance documents, and subcontractor billing.

• Reconcile billed versus paid amounts and resolve discrepancies.

• Manage payment applications, retainage releases, and closeout billing.

• The Billing Specialist will maintain accurate billing logs and job cost records.

• Support month-end processes by providing billing and revenue updates.

Qualifications for the Billing Specialist Role

• Prior experience in billing, invoicing, or accounts receivable; construction experience is a plus.

• AIA billing experience is not required—training will be provided.

• Experience reviewing contracts or working in a project-based environment is helpful.

• Familiarity with construction or ERP systems such as Computer Ease is a plus.

• Strong data entry, reconciliation, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small, fast-paced department.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Comfortable communicating with project managers and internal teams.
