Brayman Construction Corporation, a leading heavy civil and geotechnical contractor headquartered in Saxonburg, is seeking a full‑time, experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our exceptional team and play a pivotal role in our financial operations. Job Summary

The Cost Accounting Manager supports the financial success of our construction operations by overseeing project and job costing, preparing financial projections and budgets, supporting month‑end close and reporting, and providing leadership for the Job Cost functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction accounting principles, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment with precision and attention to detail.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Some flexibility may be required based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor project budgets, commitments, forecasts, and actual cost records across multiple construction projects.
  • Identify cost variances and collaborate with project managers and superintendents to resolve discrepancies.
  • Support the month‑end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and cost adjustments.
  • Assist with monthly financial forecasts and performance reporting for active projects.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process and periodic financial reviews.
  • Develop, document, and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Track and report project data to assist with tax compliance and audit requirements.
  • Oversee the Job Cost functions and provide guidance to the staff.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience; construction industry experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of construction accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Familiarity with job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and project forecasting.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista or similar construction ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus.
