Staff Accountant Location: Fort Washington, PA Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Work Arrangement: Hybrid About the Opportunity Our client, a growing professional services organization located in Fort Washington, PA,is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its expanding finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build upon their experience in a collaborative environment that offers visibility across the organization and opportunities for professional growth.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, assisting with month-end close activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of accounting records.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting-related issues.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and controls.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-4+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Public accounting internship or experience.
- Experience in a professional services environment.
- CPA track or CPA designation is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
