Plant Controller
This role is responsible for financial accounting and operational reporting for the division in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory/advisory standards. The Controller provides leadership over the accounting function, assigning responsibilities and training, monitoring, and improving the performance of reporting staff. The role manages a team of approximately 7 accounting employees and reports directly to the CFO.
Key responsibilities include managing operational expenses through the division's accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial management reports, production reporting, KPIs, and scorecards. Oversee bills of materials (BOM) and standards, maintain accurate Live Ag and Variance P&Ls, manage fixed assets and capital spending processes, participate in monthly and year-end financial closing, provide a standard costing system, manage and participate in inventory reconciliation, oversee disbursement activities, implement and enforce financial reporting and accounting procedures and schedules, establish and maintain internal controls, participate in the budget and forecasting process, ensure division income tax compliance, document and understand the ERP system, assess risk and liability through audits and compliance activities, maintain current knowledge of industry trends and regulations, manage accounting staff, and perform special projects and other related duties.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent, 5+ years of financial accounting experience including consumer products industry experience, solid system knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics/Navision or other ERP systems, strong interpersonal skills, strong technical and analytical skills, sound judgment, a strong operational focus, demonstrated ability to manage and develop staff, well-organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and CPA preferred.
