Property Accountant

About the Role

We're partnering with a growing real estate investment and property management organization seeking a Property Accountant to join its collaborative accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property accountant who enjoys owning a portfolio, working closely with accounting leadership, and contributing to a stable, growing organization. • Prepare monthly financial statements for an assigned portfolio of properties
• Complete month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting work papers
• Develop annual property budgets and forecasts
• Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide meaningful financial insights
• Partner with property management and operations teams on financial reporting
• Assist with year-end audit and tax support
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of residential or commercial property accounting experience
• Experience preparing monthly financial statements
• Experience managing the accounting for multiple properties
• Experience with Yardi, MRI, or another property management ERP system
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
