Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a meticulous and dependable Staff Accountant to join our client's team in the Bridgeville, Pennsylvania area. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, system proficiency, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, including managing disbursements and cash receipts.

- Handle payroll processing and perform analyses, including reconciling payroll cash and benefits accounts.

- Prepare and file business taxes, analyze prepaid and accrued tax accounts, and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

- Support senior accounting staff and managers by assisting with financial reporting and other accounting tasks.

- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure accuracy in financial statements.

- Conduct audits of inventory and fixed assets to maintain proper accounting records.

- Utilize accounting systems to organize and analyze financial data effectively.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and resolve accounting discrepancies.

- Assist in preparing profit and loss statements and other financial reports for management review.

- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.

- At least 2-3 years of experience in an accounting department within a large corporation or audit department of a public accounting firm.

- Proficiency in accounting systems and ability to organize and analyze financial data.

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

- Knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger accounting.

- Ability to work on-site in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, five days a week (Monday through Friday).
