Job Title
General Accounting Activities
Job SummaryPerforms general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules | Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles | Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget | Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports | Conducts or assists in the documentation of accounting projects

- Must have at least one professional expert or one supervisor as a direct report
- Has accountability for the performance and results of a team within own area of specialty
- Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
- Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from manager
- Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
- Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
- Manages accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting.
- Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records.
- Ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Establishes and implements productivity and quality standards.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
- Discipline/Major: Business, Finance or Accounting degree preferred.
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Account Reconciliation. Accounting Management. Accounts Payable. Balance Sheet Analysis. Bank Reconciliation. Financial Accounting. Financial Reporting. General Ledger Accounting. Project Management. Revenue Recognition. GAAP Standards. Accounting Software.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
No or very little travel likely.
