Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant (Real Estate) in Montgomery County, PA for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, and investment accounting across a private real estate platform. This role offers exposure to fund, investment, and property accounting while supporting financial close, capital activity, audits, and portfolio reporting. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with accounting and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP.
Responsibilitiesas the Staff Accountant (Real Estate):
- Fund Accounting: Assist with accounting and financial reporting for private real estate funds, joint ventures, and related investment entities.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages.
- Capital Activity: Record capital calls, distributions, investor allocations, and related fund transactions.
- Audit & Tax Support: Coordinate audit requests, organize supporting documentation, and assist with tax reporting processes alongside external service providers.
- Investment Accounting: Track investment activity, maintain supporting schedules, and ensure accurate recording of portfolio transactions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience with full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close responsibilities is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in real estate, private equity, fund accounting, investment accounting, or public accounting with real estate clients is preferred, and strong knowledge of GAAP is required.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, and experience with accounting or ERP systems is preferred. - Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively across teams, and maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
