What You'll Do as an Assistant Bookkeeper

• Support our Bookkeeper with day-to-day bookkeeping and financial tasks as you learn the broader responsibilities of the role.
• Process payroll information, employee timecards, and supporting records.
• Maintain employee information, benefits records, health insurance details, 401(k) information, and new-hire documentation.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to help keep our financial operations running smoothly.
• Handle sales tax-related bookkeeping and maintain accurate supporting records.
• Process banking transactions, including ACH payments, and assist with local trips to the bank and post office.
• Enter financial data, including credit card receipts and other day-to-day bookkeeping information, accurately and consistently.
• Adapt to evolving responsibilities as this newly created position develops alongside our growing business.

Our Ideal Assistant Bookkeeper

• Experienced:
  At least 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Accurate:
  Carefully manage financial, payroll, benefits, and employee information with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.
• Organized:
  Prioritize responsibilities, stay on top of deadlines, and keep financial and employee records well organized.
• Tech-Savvy:
  Proficient in Microsoft 365, with Acumatica experience preferred.
• Adaptable:
  Embrace changing responsibilities as this newly created position continues to develop and evolve.
• Collaborative:
  Communicate clearly, work well with our office team, and align with the Christian values of our faith-based, Amish-owned company.
