Large distribution company headquartered in the Philadelphia area is looking to hire an experienced Senior Accountant to be a key member of the Corporate Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following:
- Participate in the monthly close and reporting process in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Perform accounting research to determine proper classification and recording of transactions
- Track budgets to actuals monthly, analyzing and researching discrepancies
- Assist with fixed asset accounting
- Identify ways to create efficiencies or automate processes
- Perform detailed analysis of accounts to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Facilitate annual audits, providing documentation, support, and explanations
- Participate in special projects
The Senior Accountant should possess the following:
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or retail industries preferred
