We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team as we prepare for the retirement of a valued employee who has been an important part of our organization for more than two decades. Position Summary
The Project Accountant serves as a financial partner to our Project Managers and operations teams, helping ensure accurate job costing, billing, project reporting, vendor management, and overall project financial success.
Responsibilities
Project Accounting & Cost Management
- Maintain project records within Sage 300, Procore, and related systems.
- Support project setup, budgets, contracts, and change order management.
- Prepare owner billings, including AIA billing documentation.
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections.
- Process customer payments and maintain client records.
- Track labor costs and support project cost reporting.
- Assist with timekeeping, certified payroll reporting, and payroll requirements.
- Partner with Project Managers to maintain accurate project financial information.
Accounts Payable & General Accounting
- Process vendor invoices and maintain accurate job cost coding.
- Reconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries.
- Support payment processing and annual 1099 reporting.
- Assist with account reconciliations and month-end close activities.
- Maintain fixed asset and other accounting records.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Three or more years of accounting, bookkeeping, or project accounting experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Construction industry experience.
- Experience with Sage 300 CRE and/or Procore.
- Knowledge of job costing, construction billing, and project accounting.
