As an Accounts Payable Specialist your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Review, code, and enter a high volume of vendor invoices accurately within the accounting system while ensuring proper cost allocation.

- Investigate billing variances, payment concerns, and account issues, then work with internal teams and vendors to bring items to resolution.

- Coordinate vendor disbursements, including payment scheduling, check processing, and electronic payments, while identifying opportunities to capture available discounts.

- Reconcile vendor statements, accounts payable aging, and related general ledger activity to maintain accurate balances and timely follow-up.

- Process employee expense reimbursements and confirm submitted documentation aligns with company policies and approval requirements.

- Assist with month-end accounting tasks, financial reporting support, and preparation for audit-related requests.

- Maintain organized records and uphold internal control standards to support accuracy, compliance, and documentation readiness.

- Contribute to process enhancements by identifying inefficiencies and supporting better use of automation and system capabilities.

- Provide assistance with analysis, reporting requests, and additional accounting projects as business needs evolve.

Requirements

The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist candidate will have:

- At least 3 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume processing environment.

- Strong background in invoice coding, account allocation, and full-cycle accounts payable activities.

- Experience handling payment methods such as ACH transactions and check runs.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting, tracking, and documentation.

- Experience with Sage Intacct and Ramp is preferred.

- Ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and resolve problems with sound judgment and attention to detail.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to work professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy setting.
