Our client is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to step in and provide support across multiple entities. This role will oversee accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activity while helping ensure everything stays accurate and on schedule.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who can quickly get up to speed, work independently, and take ownership of the accounting function in a multi-entity environment.
OVERVIEW OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER ROLE:Take ownership of the month-end close process across multiple entities, ensuring all deadlines are met
Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, trial balances, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
Review financial results and investigate unusual variances, fluctuations, and trends
Prepare and review monthly financial reporting and management reports
The Accounting Manager will review account reconciliations and research and resolve outstanding items
Calculate and review accruals, reserves, inventory reserves, bad debt allowances, and other accounting estimates
Provide guidance and support to accounting staff handling AP, AR, and general ledger functions
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accounting processes are accurate and consistent
The Accounting Manager will ensure financial reporting is completed in accordance with GAAP and company policies
Oversee accounts receivable activity, including collections, cash application, and customer account reviews
Oversee accounts payable activity, including invoice processing, approvals, payments, and vendor issues
The Accounting Manager will support annual audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and requested analysis
Partner with operational teams to understand transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment
Analyze production and cost information and investigate cost variances
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency
Assist with other accounting projects and duties as needed during the temporary assignment
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Previous experience managing or leading an accounting function
Strong experience with month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting
Experience working with multiple entities or companies preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems
Ability to quickly step into a role, work independently, and meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
