We're currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a fast-paced hospitality/resort operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional or a strong Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller ready to take the next step in their career.
The Financial Controller will work closely with the Director of Finance and leadership team, overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, payroll, and the development of the finance team.
What You'll DoFinancial Controller – Hospitality
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, income audit, night audit, payroll, and financial reporting
- Prepare and oversee monthly and annual financial statements
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Review general ledger activity and balance-sheet reconciliations
- Analyze financial results and provide meaningful variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee payroll operations for a large workforce
- Support internal and external audits
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members
- Partner with operational and department leaders to provide financial insight and support business decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, efficiency, and systems
- Support special projects and other finance initiatives as required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5–10 years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience
- Hospitality accounting experience is strongly preferred
- Experience in a hotel, resort, casino, or multi-property hospitality environment is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Experience leading accounting operations and managing/developing finance professionals
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Experience with accounting and payroll systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Office 365
- High attention to detail, strong judgment, and a high level of integrity
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays when required
