Position OverviewAn Administrative Technician is available with the City of Fort Worth Library in the Library Operations Center. The Admin Technician will coordinate maintenance and emergency repairs for all Fort Worth Public Library facilities, ensuring the buildings and equipment are structurally sound, safe, and comfortable for patrons and staff.
Responsibilities- Identify and submit daily service requests for library buildings and facility maintenance, monitoring work orders in SharePoint and following up with Property Management using Vue Works.
- Coordinate with library staff and other departments to ensure smooth operations, addressing maintenance needs by visiting libraries for routine quarterly inspections.
- Manage incoming and outgoing shipments and deliveries daily to weekly.
- Assist with library event set‑up and tear‑down.
- Coordinate, schedule, and oversee vendors performing work at library facilities.
- Report routine maintenance and repairs using city software.
- Associate Degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration, or related field.
- Two years of clerical and administrative experience.
- Property management experience.
- English or bilingual proficiency.
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Sedentary work may involve exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and may require lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally.
