Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support to the Supervisor of Special Education at our Administration Office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong ability to multitask, and a commitment to supporting the educational needs of students with special needs. This full-time position requires a proactive approach to managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling confidential information with discretion.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Supervisor of Special Education, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings.
- Prepare and maintain documents, reports, and correspondence related to special education programs and services.
- Assist in the coordination of special education meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Serve as a liaison between the supervisor, staff, parents, and external agencies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate records and files, including student information and compliance documentation.
- Assist with budget tracking and procurement of supplies and materials for special education programs.
- Handle incoming calls and inquiries, directing them to the appropriate personnel as needed.
- Support the supervisor in project management and implementation of special education initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the Special Education department.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a secretary or administrative assistant, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office software.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
