Welcome Desk Representative (Part-time)
The Welcome Desk Representative is the first point of contact for everyone entering the YMCA. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service and creating a safe, inclusive environment. You will greet members, manage building access, answer questions, and support basic administrative needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Member Greeting: Welcome every individual with warmth and positivity.
- Access Control: Scan membership cards. Verify guest credentials. Ensure facility security.
- Information Sharing: Provide accurate details on schedules, classes, and special events.
- Phone Operations: Answer incoming calls quickly. Route inquiries to correct staff.
- Lobby Maintenance: Keep the welcome desk clean. Organize program brochures and flyers.
- Administrative Tasks: Register members for programs. Update basic contact information in the system.
- Safety Enforcement: Monitor the entry area. Report safety or maintenance issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills. Friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Basic computer skills. Ability to navigate standard membership software.
- Strong multi-tasking skills. Calm under pressure during peak check-in hours.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit or stand at the desk for long periods.
- Ability to view a computer screen and typing for extended shifts.
The candidate must accept and demonstrate the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks commensurate with the position requirements.
Shifts Needed: Tuesdays 5-9 p.m.

All positions require the ability to obtain PA State Police, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Fingerprint and National Sex Offenders Registry Clearances. If you do not have current clearances the Y will help you obtain them.
