Position Overview
Administrative Assistant – Intermediate Support in Eberly College of Science’s Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership to the planning and facilitation of support activities for an office or work unit.
- Respond to routine and moderately complex questions/issues concerning unit/University policies, processes, and procedures from internal and external contacts.
- Create and maintain files, databases, and reports.
- Monitor and maintain budgets; track expenditures for seven research faculty members along with their lab personnel and graduate students (knowledge in Simba, PSUBuy, and SAP Concur Penn State systems required).
- Generate, prepare, and maintain reports and spreadsheets, and authorize processing of payments.
- Compile and organize information to develop agendas, meeting materials, and reports.
- Arrange meetings; lead coordination and planning of special events, conferences, and other functions.
- Support the planning and coordination of moderately complex projects.
- Serve on various committees; prepare agendas, take and compose minutes.
- Develop website content and maintain web pages.
- General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS).
- 2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
- No required certifications.
- Successful completion of background check(s) required.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.
Salary range: $38,300.00 – $55,500.00. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; robust retirement plans; paid time off (holidays, vacation, and sick time). Employees receive a generous 75% tuition discount for themselves, spouses, and children.
